About us

If you have ever wondered if you could be a great drummer, this workshop will prove that your true calling on the “tubs” could still be on the cards! Featuring an action-packed performance by our world-class performers that demonstrate the amazing sounds capable from these ordinary Bunnings Warehouse products. Bucket Drums Rhythm Workshops deliver an experience-based workshop that is tailor-made to suit your event.

Every participant receives a bucket, set of sticks and is taken on a rhythmical journey that is all-inclusive and gets the heart pumping. Participants are surprised by how impressive the rhythms they create sound and in the experiential process, they learn complex musical concepts that have positive follow-on effects on their everyday lives.

The workshops can be delivered in different formats including a one-off event; or for a more comprehensive experience, a several session workshop that includes building a song with a final performance opportunity.

Bucket Drums Rhythm Workshops are designed for all events and team-building opportunities. They have been a huge success in schools across Sydney as the school-based workshops are curated to cover music and performance-based curriculum requirements in a very fun and engaging way.

Our Founder

Bucket Drums Rhythm Workshop was created by Rob Di Marzo in 2020 during the COVID pandemic. Originally contracted to drum in the showband for Norwegian and Celebrity cruise lines which were canceled due to the pandemic, he returned to Sydney and was disheartened that school bands were unable to rehearse due to tightened restrictions on wind instruments. As a favor to his musician mates, he offered to run a few rhythm workshops to ensure that the students still gained quality musical growth in these difficult times. Word spread quickly of this fun opportunity and all of sudden he was inundated with requests for workshops for not only bands but for school incursions which led to birthday party requests and workplace team-building events. With generous assistance from the Bunnings Warehouse Community Involvement program, Rob was able to get into schools with his Bunnings buckets and start making a real difference, teaching over 1000 students in the first term of operation.

The instant success for the Bucket Drums Rhythm Workshops points to the simple formula of a fun hands-on experience that gets everyone involved with long-lasting benefits however there is more to it which Rob puts down to his 15 years of performance and teaching experience. Since gaining his bachelor’s degree from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, he has toured nationally and internationally as a session musician, drummer and percussionist for bands, orchestras and corporate acts. He has taught privately and conducted many successful award-winning ensembles in Australia and abroad. In 2019 he received his qualification in Music Education while working in an International School in China. Rob has culminated his love for performance and love of sharing his rhythmical knowledge with people to carefully curate these action-packed workshops. Every moment has been designed to guarantee maximal enjoyment for participants all while passing on invaluable drumming and performance skills and fulfilling essential school curriculum requirements in the school workshops.
